Making a Drama out of a Crisis - The Sequel’ online drama course, funded by Windmill Hill Your Big Local & Power in Partnership, involved young people from the area and across Runcorn meeting together weekly on zoom, and working with professional theatre directors and actors, exploring drama activities together and creating a piece of theatre to reflect the times we are living in.  The young people were  involved in performing and devising characters and monologues through a fun and inspiring process.

Over the course they were able to share their thoughts and feelings with the group through the medium of drama and creative writing. We feel it is vital for young people to stay connected and creative during these times, and drama and the performing arts are powerful ways to help with mental and physical well-being.  We want to say a huge congratulations to all involved – we are really proud of the work they have created, through the really challenging time of lockdown.

During June 2020 we ran an online acting course with a number of our company members. The 5 session course, ran by our fab expert drama tutor and actor Chris Brett and our artistic director, Kate Allerston, entitled ‘Making a Drama out of a Crisis’. The young actors worked on creating, writing and performing their own characters in response to Lockdown and the Covid situation. Some of our performers recorded their monologues. This is the fabulous result!

Show & Events @ Norton Priory

It was amazing to create live professional theatre in December 2020 at the stunning Norton Priory atrium within a socially distanced and Covid-safe environment. A magical event featuring the fabulous Camira Wind Trio in a dramatic retelling of Dickens' 'A Christmas Carol', exactly 177 years since it was first published in its entirety.
